How to face your fears to exercise in public

Welcome to part 4 of the program ‘How to face your fears to exercise in public’, in this part we will discuss what to do in the third week to further lower anxiety, remember in part 3 we talked how just going out alone, observing people, laughing and smiling were tricks to do to reinforce your brain into positive thinking, we talking how that can help you to feel better about yourself and notice that no one is staring at you.

Week 3: Small talk

This is the third week of the program, I hope you did great in the last 2 weeks, in this week we are going to do the same thing of the second week but with more exposure therapy, we will try to say hello to approachable people, the families that have kids who play on the garden, remember it’s only small talk, so you will not have to overthink what to say, idea is to make you understand that small talk will not kill you, so all what you have to do is to say hi, smile and ask about time, then leave, no pressure. If you feel intimidated start by asking approachable people as I said, if you cheeks get red or have stomach butterfly then that’s a strong sign of anxiety, so no problem, realize that anxiety is normal, it’s how you respond to it that’s not normal, if you keep doing actions you will reprogram your brain into thinking that people are safe to be around and that you are just living in your head, people are not the nightmare that you thought about, not every stranger is dangerous.

Small Talk, Small talk, Small talk

This is what you have to do in the third week, no more excuses, it’s easy to say hi, it’s easy to ask for time, you are not engaging in conversation where you require to focus and think about your looks being good enough for strangers to appreciate you, you just ask for time because you don’t know about it, you just say hi because you are polite, by doing that you will see how generous are people in helping you, you will learn to read their body language and find who is more open than the other, you can even high five small kids, pet their animals, and say anything funny, then leave, do whatever you are comfortable with, but remember you have to force yourself to make improvement, I help you because I lived and breathed this subject for years so I know what I’m teaching, Fat Loss Master is about the tribe of people who become strong by learning from their mistakes and want to improve in everyday life situations, be my student, let me be proud of you, we will work together to achieve your goal.
